The 713th annual Urs Celebration of the Great Sufi-Poet Hazrat Amir Khusro was celebrated at Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia from 11th to 15th July 2017 under the auspices of Pir Khwaja Ahmed Nizami. The main functions of the Urs of were held at Urs Mahal on 12th, 13th and 14th July. The Urs Programme included Quran Khwani, Naat Khwani, Speeches, Mushaira and Qawwali. The three days programme at Urs Mahal was conducted by Pirzada Siraj Madani Nizami General Secretary, Urs Celebration Committee. Apart from devotees from all over the Country, Religious Heads, Scholars, Intellectuals, Poets and Dervishes from different sects of Sufi orders participated in the Urs Celebration at Urs Mahal.
Mehfil-e-Qul was held on 13th, 14th and 15th July at 11 AM at the main courtyard of Dargah Sharif.
Lt. Governor of Delhi Mr.Anil Baijal was the Chief Guest on the second day of the Urs Celebration. He also addressed the Urs gathering and paid his tribute to the great Sufi Poet. An All India Mushaira was also organized on Hazrat Amir Khusro. Dr. Anand Mohan Zutshi Gulzar Dehlavi, Afzal Manglori, Mateen Amrohavi, Azhar Iqbal, Gufran Ashrafi among others participated in the Mushaira. The programme was broadcasted live by All India Radio from Urs Mahal. Many Qawwal parties participated and presented their Kalaams (Poetry) on the occasion.
All India Roohani Tablighi Ijtema was organized on 14th July under the banner of Sufi Cultural Organization. Hazrat Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichochvi, President of All India Ulama & Mashaikh Board was the Principal Speaker. The theme of the Ijtema was "Peace & Prosperity--The Message of Islam". Special dua for the world peace was also held.
The concluding day of the Urs was held at Taaq-e-Buzurg (A memorial building of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia situated inside Dargah Complex) on 15th July. Fateha of Maula Ali and special Qawwali (Mehfile Sama) was organized and langar was distributed.
