Mr.Anil Baijal

Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi

Raj Niwas, Delhi-54.

Sub: Request to provide Metro Connectivity and multilevel parking space for the devotees of Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia so as to prevent traffic snarls.

 Dear Sir,

Let me first congratulate you on being the Lt. Governor of Delhi. I hope that your vast bureaucratic experience and honesty will surely go a long way in making Delhi the city of our dreams.  I pray for your health and well being at the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and look forward to invite you on the occasion of the Urs Celebration.

May I also place before you the fact that the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia is situated in the heart of Delhi with three major roads Mathura Road,  Lala Lajpat Rai Marg and Lodhi Road passing around it. It also has proximity to Humayun’s Tomb, Oberoi Hotel, Jawahar lal Nehru Stadium and the prestigious Delhi Public School. Also the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is also hardly a Kilometer away. Besides the Holy Dargah the area has other shrines also.

Today the population of the area has since increased many folds besides the large number of devotees who throng to the Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah daily. With no Metro Connectivity all the load is on vehicular traffic resulting in daily traffic chaos particularly during Urs season and other peak hours. This results in haphazard parking of devotees which often causes traffic jams resulting in inconvenience to the public at large which needs your urgent attention.

May I suggest that the Khusro Park opposite to the Baoli gate of the Dargah be conveniently used for a multilevel parking. This park previously has been narrowed twice to pave way for the broadening of the road. Presently the land is owned by the Delhi Development Authority and is gradually being encroached upon by certain notorious elements in an organised manner.

I being associated with the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia feel it my moral duty to pass this long pending grievance of the area. Any act of fulfillment of this request will cherish the long pending grievance of the devotees’ and the people of the locality. We are pinning our hopes on your office and high stature in the government in solving our woes..

 With Regards,

 Yours sincerely

Syed Farid Ahmed Nizami

Sub: Request to complete the pending road project behind Zakir Nagar starting from Kalindi Colony flyover near Ashram / Noida DND to Shaheen Bagh to ease traffic congestion at Okhla.

 Dear Sir,

Let me first congratulate you on your being the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Delhi. It is your administrative ability and your Statesmanship that has bought laurels to your esteemed career. I also had the privilege to study under your administration at the Jamia Millia Islamia University from where I had finished my Bachelors in Civil Engineering.

May I state that this traffic problem is inherent to this area because of the unplanned roads network. The Maulana Mohd Ali Jauhar Marg is the only entrance to the okhla and its adjoining locality. This road caters to two hospitals besides Jamia Millia Islamia College and School before it reaches any residential pocket. Moreover the traffic vying for Noida and Shaheen Bagh also take this arterial route leading to unprecedented traffic jams. Worst still the haphazard parking of Autos, Phatphat sewas and cycle and e-rickshaws besides movement of heavy traffic only worsen the already decorating problem making life hell for the residents during rush hours.

May I suggest that the pending road project behind Zakir Nagar starting from Kalindi Colony flyover near Ashram / Noida DND be immediately activated so that the Noida / Shaheen Bagh bound traffic may take the outer route and pass through the 40 foot newly broadened road at Shaheen Bagh to Kalindi Kunj Park in order to reach Noida. Moreover it will make the entry to Okhla multisided as one way entry leads to massive traffic jams and Air Pollutions besides wastage of precious time of the residents. This also adversely affects the business of the area.

Hope you will sympathetically look into our grievance and act accordingly as to this long pending project may see the light of the day.

 With Regards,

 Yours sincerely

 Mohd Azhar Masoodi (Joint Secretary)
